Via PCE UNEDasiss
In Spain the Russian certificate of secondary general education is homologated to the Título de Bachiller. Applicants from countries without an agreement apply to the Ministry of Education for homologation and obtain UNEDasiss accreditation — with it they can take part in the ordinary CiUG pre-registration (preinscripción) round via NERTA. PCE exams are optional, but without them the grade usually falls between 5 and 6; up to 6 subjects can be taken, and applicants from non-agreement countries are advised to take at least four on their first application. In the 2026/2027 cycle ordinary pre-registration ran from 12 to 25 June. If the UNEDasiss result is not available by then, the applicant enters grade 5,000 in NERTA and sends the UNED grade sheet to the LERD of the campus of the first-choice degree within 48 hours of obtaining it, and no later than 7 July (14.00). The UNED accreditation is valid for admission and enrolment for two years from issue.
These are the 2026/2027 cycle dates — check next year's dates on the CiUG website. Until homologation is granted, the UNEDasiss accreditation is provisional. The Xunta 99 % bonus on credits passed at first enrolment is, for new students, tied mainly to passing the PAU in Galicia in 2026; those who do not meet the conditions can only get it from the following year, once their link with Galicia is shown. UDC sets separate prices for foreigners without long-term residence — check them.

Applicants from foreign education systems whose studies have been homologated to the Spanish Bachillerato (or to Técnico Superior for holders of foreign vocational qualifications) can also apply in the ordinary pre-registration round. They attach the homologation credential or, if it is not yet issued, a copy of the homologation application. For foreign students the admission grade is the grade on the homologation credential (or on the UNED accreditation). With only a copy of the application the admission grade is set at 5,000, and admission is conditional on a positive homologation decision. Vocational graduates: if you live in Galicia, the application for homologation of vocational studies goes to the competent Galician authority, not to the Ministry.
Homologation can take several months. There is no predetermined cut-off mark: the nota de corte is the grade of the last student admitted, and it depends on the number of places, the number of applicants and their grades; previous years' values are published by CiUG.

The public universities of Galicia (A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Vigo) form a single district, and CiUG runs admission to their limited-place degrees. One application can list up to five different degrees in order of preference (up to ten when a degree is taught at several centres); you are admitted to only one — the highest preference whose admission grade you reach. Lists of called students are published in waves and everything moves fast: each wave gives two days to enrol, and to stay on the waiting list you must tick «Continuar na listaxe de agarda» each time. When called for a vacancy you get an email and must accept the place within 48 hours; in the 2026 cycle this procedure ends on 14 October for degrees whose places are all filled.
The extraordinary round (16–20 July in 2026) is open to those who did not apply in the ordinary round; degrees filled in the ordinary round are not offered there. Ordinary-round applicants have priority, and the list and order of degrees cannot be changed after the deadline.
